UNYX
The Google Ads modules

Are your Google Ads conversions still being counted correctly?

When a tag breaks, Google Ads does not warn you: it keeps optimising, but on false data. By the time the drop is noticed, automated bidding has already learned the wrong lesson.

Why this happens

  • A site release removes or moves the tag on the confirmation page.
  • A change to the consent banner blocks firing for part of your visitors.
  • A redesign creates two conversion actions counting the same event.
  • An offline conversion import stops without anyone noticing.

How to check it yourself

These checks are done directly in your Google Ads account, with no tool at all.

  1. 1Open the "Conversions" column over 30 days in daily view: a clean drop from one day to the next is rarely a coincidence.
  2. 2Check that clicks and impressions stayed stable over the same period: if so, the problem is on the measurement side.
  3. 3In "Conversion actions", check the date each action last recorded something.
  4. 4Beware of impossible rises too: a duplicate inflates volume without a single extra sale.
What UNYX does

UNYX establishes the normal behaviour of your tracking, then reports any break or inconsistency with the date it started, so you can fix the cause on the site before bidding drifts.

Frequently asked questions

How long does broken tracking take to do damage?

A few days is enough. Automated bidding reacts to recent data: one week of unreported conversions is enough to reduce delivery on what was working.

How do you tell a breakage from a simple drop in activity?

By looking at clicks. If traffic is stable and only conversions collapse, measurement is at fault. If both fall together, it is demand or delivery.
