Switching providers shouldn't cost you your account history. In practice, it often does.
An account carries months of learning: what converted, at what price, on which searches. Starting over with a new account wipes all of that out and makes you pay a second time for the most expensive phase of a campaign. The reflex to rebuild everything suits the incoming provider, rarely the advertiser.
Check who owns the account
This is the first point, and the one most often handled badly. If the account is in the agency's name, you leave with nothing. At UNYX, the account is in your name, including the day you leave us.
Recover before changing anything
Spend history, reported conversions, negative keyword lists, audiences. We back up what exists before touching anything.
Fix tracking before optimizing
Optimizing on false conversions makes things worse. The health of your tracking comes before any decision on bidding.
Monitor without taking everything over
If you're not ready to hand over management, 15 modules plug into your existing account: budget monitoring, search query analysis, alerts on tracking and on landing pages.
What's included
My current agency holds the account. What should I do?
A Google Ads account can be transferred, or your access can be restored. The first thing to settle is ownership of the account: as long as it isn't on your side, no decision is truly yours.
Should campaigns be paused during the handover?
No, and it's even discouraged. A pause breaks the learning. We take over with ads running continuously and correct things step by step.
How long before we see an effect?
Tracking fixes and irrelevant queries are dealt with right away. The effects on cost per lead show over several weeks of ad delivery, not a few days.
