Your rights on diesel

A letter to those who drive for a living

Every litre counts. But you still have to check your rights.

When you run a transport company, fuel is a daily expense, sometimes a heavy one. The tax included in its price is far less visible. Yet some professionals can claim back part of that excise duty. With the vehicles, the statements and the rules, many people don't know where to start.

I want to make this process easy to follow. Not to sell a refund before the file has even been opened. First, understand your business and your vehicles. Then, identify the eligible consumption and the documents available. Only after that work can a serious claim be put into figures.

I believe in a simple method: every litre counted must be traceable to a supporting document, every rate to its period, every assumption to a verifiable rule. The decision belongs to the tax authority, not to a consultant. If your company has already obtained its refund, I won't sell you a second recovery on the same volumes.

I am neither the tax authority nor your chartered accountant. UNYX can organize the information, prepare the calculations and make exchanges around the file easier. When a situation calls for specialized legal or tax analysis, it must be handed to a qualified professional. And your company, or its authorized representative, stays in control of the returns filed in its name.

If your trucks are on the road, or if you run taxis or passenger transport, let's talk about your numbers. In twenty minutes, I can outline the first points to check, without prejudging the outcome.

Six principles

How I work

  1. 01

    Eligibility before figures.

High consumption alone does not create a right to a refund. I start by checking the activity and the vehicles.

  2. 02

    Litres, not guesswork.

Every volume counted must be backed by a document. A calculation with no clear source remains a mere estimate.

  3. 03

    One period, one rule.

Rates and procedures change over time. I treat each financial year separately instead of mixing different rules.

  4. 04

    Your accountant on board.

The file affects your tax returns. I prefer to work with the right contact rather than go around them.

  5. 05

    Never the same one twice.

An amount that has already been refunded cannot be presented as a new saving. I cross-check claims against your history.

  6. 06

    No blind promises.

I can explain a method and an estimate. I cannot promise the tax authority's decision or a payment date.

What I refuse

What I won't do

I'd rather turn down a doubtful file than expose you to an audit. That matters.

  • A so-called guaranteed refund.
  • Litres without supporting documents.
  • A claim already refunded.
  • A mandate signed without being read.
  • Poorly explained fees.

The limits of our support

A tax file deserves more than reassuring words. Here are the limits I prefer to state before we begin.

  • Eligibility to be confirmed

Not every fleet is concerned. The type of transport, the vehicles and the fuel used are among the points to check.

  • Documents sometimes missing

Without reliable statements or usable invoices, some volumes will stay out of the calculation. I'd rather remove a litre than invent one.

  • Administrative decision

UNYX does not decide on the refund. The tax authority may ask for clarifications, audit the documents or reject a claim.

  • Filing under review

We prepare a file, not a signature in your place. Filing is the responsibility of the authorized filer, with the necessary approvals.

Frequently asked questions

Before starting a file

Can my company recover the TICPE?

Possibly. It depends in particular on your activity, the characteristics of your vehicles and the fuels you buy. A number of trucks alone is not enough.

What documents do I need to provide?

We start with your SIRET number, your fleet and an estimate of volumes. Then we ask for the invoices, fuel statements and any useful supporting documents.

Can you recover past years?

Some periods may still be eligible, subject to the applicable deadlines. We review them separately, without announcing a right before it has been verified.

Who files the refund claim?

For consumption since 2025, the claim goes in principle through VAT and annex 3310-TIC. Your company or its authorized filer validates it.

How much does your support cost?

I present the scope and the fees before anything is signed. The first twenty-minute call is free and commits you to no engagement.

Let's talk about your fuel and your rights.

Twenty free minutes to understand your business. I'll tell you what is worth checking, without promising a refund.
